3 Simple Shifts You Can Make Right Now
Recently, I was chatting with a woman at the gym about thyroid health, and afterward, someone nearby approached me with a great question:
"If you could give just one piece of advice for someone starting their wellness journey, what would it be?"
I loved that question—but the honest answer is: it depends on the person. The work I do is deeply personalized. What helps one body heal can actually slow another down. For example, John might be dealing with fatigue because his cells are burdened by toxins, while Jane’s similar symptoms stem from a mineral deficiency. Their healing paths? Completely different.
Still, after working with hundreds of clients on their health journeys, I’ve found three powerful foundations that nearly everyone can benefit from. If you’re wondering where to start, this is your first step.
1. Drink Pure, Energizing Water
You’ve probably heard that we’re made up of over 60% water—but not all water is created equal. When your cells are hydrated with pure, contaminant-free water, they can do their job: deliver nutrients, flush toxins, and support metabolism.
Why distilled water?
Most filters only remove a handful of contaminants—some test for just 30, even though over 86,000 chemicals have been identified in U.S. tap water. That’s why I recommend distilled water as the cleanest, most consistent option. It removes 99.999% of toxins, pathogens, and harmful metals.
Common questions I get:
“I already use a filter—why switch?”
Filters degrade over time. Distillers use a phase change (evaporation and condensation), which consistently removes toxins every single time—without fail.
“I feel worse after switching to distilled water—is that bad?”
This could actually be a good sign. It means your body is detoxing years of chemical buildup. Short-term symptoms, often called “herx reactions,” can happen as the body adjusts and clears toxins more efficiently.
“Won’t I miss out on minerals?”
The minerals in tap water are often in an inorganic, non-absorbable form. Your body needs minerals from food, not water. For added support, you can add a few drops of Baja Gold Liquid ocean to your distilled water to energize and stabilize it.
Tip: Aim for half your body weight in ounces per day, plus more if you’re active or detoxing.
Here is an affordable distiller we personally own and use every day. Be sure to choose one with a glass carafe to prevent micro-plastics from getting into your water.
2. Open Your Drainage Pathways
This is one of the most overlooked pieces in healing—and one of the most important. Your body has natural ways of getting rid of toxins, but if these pathways are clogged or sluggish, those toxins recirculate, slow healing, and create more symptoms.
Key drainage areas:
- Bowel movements – You should be going 1–2 times a day (or as many times as you eat!). This is your first and most important elimination route.
- Liver – Filters all of your blood every 5 minutes. With the toxins in food, air, and water today, your liver likely needs extra support.
- Lymphatic system – Unlike your blood, your lymph doesn’t have a pump. It only flows when you move. Walking, rebounding, deep breathing, and dry brushing all help.
- Organs and tissues – When drainage is backed up, stagnation shows up in organs. Think: lung issues, menstrual imbalances, circulatory problems.
- Cellular detox – Healthy cells vibrate at a high frequency, and that vibration = energy. Proper hydration + drainage = vibrant, active, healing cells.
Tip: If you’re feeling stuck in your healing, check your elimination.
Your body can’t heal if it can’t drain.

3. Support Your Nervous System
Your body can only heal when it feels safe.
If you're stuck in a chronic “fight or flight” mode—whether from trauma, chronic stress, or emotional overwhelm—your system will resist healing, no matter how “perfect” your diet or supplements are.
Ways to regulate your nervous system:
- Vagal nerve stimulation (cold exposure, humming, gargling)
- Breath-work and bodywork
- Safe, supportive relationships
- Professional counseling or somatic therapy
- Spiritual connection and emotional release work
When your nervous system is regulated, everything else works better—your digestion, immune system, hormones, and even your emotional balance.
Tip: Healing is more than physical. Make space for emotional and nervous system health, too.
Ready to Begin?
You don’t need to overhaul your life overnight. Start with pure water, make sure your body is eliminating toxins, and support your nervous system to feel safe and at ease.
If you’re not sure where to begin or feel stuck in your healing journey, I’d love to support you with personalized guidance. Every body is different—and your path should reflect your uniqueness.
Here's to your journey,
